How to find a healthy relationship with social media

Having a healthy relationship with social media involves setting limits for yourself, being mindful of the content you consume and share, and taking breaks when needed. I’ve gone back and forth on producing and not producing content… consuming vs not consuming.. Here I discuss what works for me now! 1. Set limits: Decide on the amount of time you want to spend on social media each day and stick to it. Use apps or features that track your usage and help you manage your time.
 2. Be mindful of content: Be selective about the accounts you follow and the content you engage with. Avoid consuming content that makes you feel negative emotions or stressed.
 3. Produce content if you’re a creator. My mental health suffered when I was consuming everyone else’s thoughts but not sharing any of my own!
 4. Be aware of the potential negative effects: Social media can have negative effects on mental health, such as increasing feelings of anxiety, depression, or loneliness. It's essential to be aware of these potential effects and take steps to address them.
 5. Try to find balance: Use social media to connect with friends and family, stay informed, and have fun, but also make sure to maintain a balance with other activities and real-life interactions.
